XM cashback works through XM Traders Club, where qualifying trades generate XM Coins, or XMC. The amount is not a universal cash rebate per lot because it depends on the trade, account and membership status.
Eligibility depends on the XM entity, region, account type and trade conditions. Under the reviewed XM Global terms, the programme covers verified real Standard, Micro and Ultra Low accounts, while Shares, XM Zero and Swap-Free accounts are excluded.
XMC is not automatically withdrawable cash. Depending on the account and status, it may be redeemed for a trading bonus, cash balance or another reward displayed in the XM Members Area.
How Does XM Cashback Work Through XMC?
XM cashback is a points-based reward mechanism rather than one fixed payment for every lot traded. Eligible clients complete qualifying trades, receive XMC and redeem those coins through the dedicated function in the XM Members Area.
The basic process has three stages:
- Complete an eligible round-turn trade on a participating real account.
- Receive XMC based on the qualifying trading volume and applicable calculation factors.
- Redeem whole XMC amounts for the rewards available to the account and membership status.
The following diagram shows this sequence and helps distinguish earning XMC from redeeming the final reward.

What Determines How Much XMC a Trade Earns?
The number of XMC earned depends on more than the number of lots traded. XM Global’s terms use the following general formula:
XMC amount = trade volume in USD × coefficient ÷ 1,000,000 × cash-to-credit ratio
The coefficient varies according to the traded instrument group, account type and current XM Traders Club status. Meanwhile, the cash-to-credit ratio reduces the eligible amount when a position is funded partly with bonus credit instead of deposited money.
The table below identifies the main variables traders need to check before estimating an XMC reward.
| Factor | How It Affects XMC | Where to Check |
| Trading volume | Higher qualifying nominal volume can generate more XMC | Trade history and contract specifications |
| Instrument group | Different groups use different coefficients | XM Traders Club terms |
| Account type | Standard and Ultra Low accounts may use different coefficients | XM account details |
| Membership status | Higher statuses may receive larger XMC coefficients | XM Traders Club dashboard |
| Cash-to-credit ratio | Only the portion funded with deposited cash generates XMC | Account balance and credit records |
XM presents five membership statuses and states that moving through them can increase the XMC earning rate by up to three times. However, the status thresholds and benefits should be checked against the terms applying to the client’s XM entity.
Is XM Cashback the Same as a Third-Party Forex Rebate?
No. XM Traders Club is XM’s official XMC reward programme, while a third-party rebate is a separate arrangement operated outside the programme.
External rebate providers may use the term “XM cashback,” but their calculation, payment and eligibility rules are not the same as the XMC terms. Traders should therefore verify each arrangement separately and should not assume an external rebate can be combined with XM Traders Club.
In addition, XMC should be treated separately from spreads and commissions. For a clearer view of the underlying transaction costs, Mbroker.net provides a dedicated guide to XM trading fees.
Who Is Eligible for XM Cashback?
A trader must have a participating verified real account and complete trades that meet the programme conditions. Availability is not global by default because XM may offer the programme only to selected clients, countries or regions.
Under the reviewed XM Global terms, the main account conditions are:
- Standard and Micro real accounts may participate.
- XM Ultra Low real accounts may participate, although their redemption options differ.
- Shares, XM Zero and Swap-Free accounts are not eligible.
- Demo-account activity does not generate XMC.
- The programme must be available for the client and visible under the applicable XM terms.
The account illustration below helps readers identify the main eligible and excluded account groups before checking more detailed trade requirements.

Which Trades Generate XMC?
A completed round-turn trade must remain open for more than five minutes to generate XMC under the reviewed XM Global terms. A trade lasting five minutes or less is invalid for XMC purposes.
Furthermore, XMC is generated only from trading volume funded with money deposited by the client. When both deposited cash and credit are used, XM applies the cash-to-credit ratio and awards XMC only for the cash-funded portion.
The table below provides a quick eligibility check for common situations.
| Situation | Generates XMC? | Main Condition |
| Standard or Micro real account | Potentially | Account and client must be eligible |
| Ultra Low real account | Potentially | Different redemption restrictions apply |
| Shares, XM Zero or Swap-Free account | No | Excluded under the reviewed terms |
| Trade open for more than five minutes | Potentially | Other eligibility rules must also be met |
| Trade open for five minutes or less | No | Minimum duration is not satisfied |
| Trade funded entirely with bonus credit | No | XMC is based on deposited-money volume |
Eligibility and account availability can change by entity and region. The client’s Members Area and the terms linked to that specific account should take priority over a general website summary.
Risk warning: Forex and CFD trading involves a significant risk of capital loss. XMC or cashback rewards do not remove market risk and should not be used as a reason to increase position size, trading frequency or deposited capital.
Can XM Cashback Be Withdrawn? Cash and Bonus Rules
XMC can become withdrawable cash only when the account and membership status support cash redemption. Otherwise, it may be converted into a non-withdrawable trading bonus or another reward available in the Members Area.
The following image highlights the key distinction: a cash reward becomes account balance, while a trading bonus remains credit governed by separate withdrawal rules.

Under the reviewed XM Global terms, redemption works as follows:
| Account and Status | Earn XMC | Redeem Trading Bonus | Redeem Cash |
| Standard/Micro – Bronze | Yes, if eligible | Yes | No |
| Standard/Micro – Silver | Yes, if eligible | Yes | No |
| Standard/Micro – Gold | Yes, if eligible | Yes | Yes |
| Standard/Micro – Platinum or Elite | Yes, if eligible | Yes | Yes |
| Ultra Low – Bronze or Silver | Yes, if eligible | No | No |
| Ultra Low – Gold, Platinum or Elite | Yes, if eligible | No | Yes |
| Shares, XM Zero or Swap-Free | No | No | No |
These entries reflect the XM Global terms reviewed for this article. Other XM entities or future programme versions may apply different conditions. (xm-cdn)
What Happens to an XMC Trading Bonus After a Withdrawal?
A trading bonus redeemed from XMC cannot be withdrawn directly. When money is withdrawn from the trading account, XM may remove part of the previously credited bonus in proportion to the withdrawal amount.
For example, withdrawing 50% of the relevant available balance can result in 50% of the applicable trading credit being removed. The exact calculation may also consider open profit or loss when positions remain active at the time of the request.
Therefore, traders should check the effect of a withdrawal on free margin before submitting it. Removing credit while positions are open can reduce equity protection and may contribute to a stop-out if the remaining margin becomes insufficient.
Do XM Coins Expire?
Yes. Under the reviewed XM Global terms, XMC expires one year after it is earned. Redemption is also limited to whole XMC amounts rather than fractional amounts.
Additionally, the terms state that an eligible trading bonus may take up to 24 hours to appear after the programme requirements have been met. Current XMC balances, expiry information and available rewards should therefore be checked directly in the Members Area before redemption.
XM cashback should ultimately be evaluated through five checks: the serving XM entity, programme availability, account type, membership status and selected reward. XMC can provide an additional benefit, but it does not replace an assessment of trading costs, withdrawal effects or the risk of losing capital.
